Primary Project Training Scheduled for September 17th and 18th
Sep 1, 2024
On September 17th and 18th, national trainer Lynn Smith will return to White Swan to conduct training for both new and returning volunteers on implementing the Primary Project.
Primary Project is a nationally recognized, evidence-based program designed to help children from Pre-K through third grade adjust to school, build confidence, develop social skills, and focus on learning. Through play, the program addresses school adjustment difficulties and enhances children's chances for success.
The training for new Primary Project volunteers will take place on Tuesday, September 17th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the White Swan High School Community Room. Participants will learn about the effectiveness of this play-based intervention and discover key strategies for working with children in our community.
After completing the training, volunteers will have the opportunity to work with Harrah youth. Volunteers can contribute as little as 30 minutes a week and still make a significant impact on a child's life. Additionally, volunteers are eligible to receive a $225 stipend for each child they serve.
