Parenting with Tradition: Strengthening Families Through Culture
Feb 10, 2025
We are now halfway through our second session of Parenting with Tradition, with six adults from five families participating in this enriching program. Based on Positive Indian Parenting, this eight-week course explores traditional and culturally-specific parenting practices and values, helping participants apply them to the challenges of modern parenting.
This program is made possible through a partnership with Yakama Nation’s Áwtni Shix̱witpamá (Sacred Healing Place), with Jeremy Garcia and Xochi Wade facilitating the sessions.
Classes will continue to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next two weeks, concluding on Thursday, February 20th. We are grateful for the commitment of these families as they strengthen their parenting skills while honoring their cultural traditions.
