Parenting with Tradition Has Begun
May 9, 2026
Our Parenting with Tradition group launched last week, with eight adults attending consistently — a strong start.
Known nationally as Positive Indian Parenting, the program was developed by the National Indian Child Welfare Association. It draws on traditional Native child-rearing practices — storytelling, the cradleboard, lessons from nature, and the role of praise — to support parents in raising children grounded in culture and connection.
Sessions continue Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout May. Big thanks to the families showing up and to the facilitators making this space possible.
