Mt. Adams Students and Staff Trained in Suicide Prevention

During the week of September 22nd, our coalition delivered QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention training to 56 eighth graders at Mt. Adams Middle School, followed by a session for 15 certificated staff at White Swan High School on Wednesday, October 1st. QPR is a nationally recognized training designed to dispel myths about suicide, help participants recognize the warning signs that someone may be considering suicide, and provide them with an actionable plan to safely intervene and connect individuals to help. Through these sessions, students and staff alike gained vital tools to promote safety, awareness, and support within our school community.
