Gathering of Native Americans Brings Together Over 60 Community Members

Apr 8, 2026

On April 7th and 8th, the coalition hosted its annual Gathering of Native Americans (GONA), bringing together over 60 youth and adults for two days of connection and learning. Through stories, games, and activities, participants explored four core values: belonging, mastery, interdependence, and generosity.

The photo above captures a powerful moment from the event — an activity in which participants experience firsthand how working interdependently can help us support our young people as they try new and challenging things.

Events like this don't happen without strong partnerships. A heartfelt thank you to the community partners who made this year's GONA possible: Yakama Nation Youth Activities, Yakama Nation Native Connections Program, Yakama Nation Garrett Lee Smith Program, the NoVo Foundation, and the Peacekeepers Society.
