Eight Families Complete Parenting with Tradition Program
Feb 9, 2024
Eight families have completed our Parenting with Tradition program!
Parenting with Tradition (known nationally as Positive Indian Parenting) is an eight-week course focusing on traditional and culturally-specific parenting practices and values. During the course, participants explore a variety of traditional child-rearing attitudes and practices, and apply them to the challenges of modern parenting.
Due to generous donations from the Discuren Foundation, Get Air Yakima, and High Steppe Climbing Center, we were able to provide each of our graduating families with a gift basket valued at $300. The gift basket is designed to provide families with additional opportunities to spend time together having fun.
As a result of the program
91% of participants said they felt very good about their ability to notice and support their child’s positive behavior (as opposed to 64% at the start of the program).
- 82% of participants felt very good about their ability to teach their child right from wrong (as opposed to 64% at the start of the program).
64% of participants said they felt very confident in their overall parenting skills (as opposed to 36% at the start of the program).
