Coordinator Trained as Lethal Means Safety Trainer
Jul 14, 2026
On July 13th, our Coordinator attended a Lethal Means Safety Training-of-Trainers sponsored by the University of Washington, where she learned to implement a curriculum focused on reducing access to lethal means — a proven, evidence-based method for preventing suicide. The training dug into both the "why" and the "how" of lethal means and suicide, walking participants through data that illustrates just how effectively lethal means safety can reduce suicide risk. She also came away with specific, concrete action steps we can take in our own homes and communities to make environments safer. Our Coordinator is now certified to bring this training back to White Swan, equipping local families and partners with practical tools to help save lives.
