Coordinator Attends HIDTA Prevention Summit
Oct 30, 2025
On October 29th, our coalition coordinator attended the HIDTA Prevention Summit, joining prevention professionals from across the nation for a day of learning, inspiration, and shared commitment to building healthier communities.
The highlight of the summit was a powerful presentation by Zach Mercurio on the concept of mattering—the idea that people thrive when they feel noticed, affirmed, and needed. His message resonated deeply, offering practical ways to strengthen the sense of belonging that protects young people from substance use.
Julie returned energized and excited to bring these practices into our community. By focusing on noticing youth for who they are, affirming their strengths, and showing them they are truly needed, we can help create environments where young people feel valued and choose healthy, substance-free paths.
We look forward to weaving these insights into upcoming coalition efforts and youth programs.
