Community Members Complete Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Jan 28, 2025

On Thursday, January 28th, five community members completed Youth Mental Health First Aid for Tribal Communities and Indigenous Peoples, a training designed to help participants recognize and respond to Indigenous youth (ages 12-18) experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. This culturally relevant course emphasizes early intervention and strong cultural connections, honoring the practices and traditions of Tribal communities.

The training was made possible through a partnership between the coalition and ESD 105, which sent Nellie Morning Owl to co-facilitate. By equipping local community members with the knowledge and skills to support youth in crisis, this effort strengthens our collective ability to promote mental well-being and resilience.
