Community Effort to Get Alcohol Out of White Swan Continues

Mar 1, 2026

Our campaign to get alcohol out of White Swan continues to gain momentum. Over the past several weeks, coalition members and partners have tabled at several community events, and the survey has also been placed at the Cougar Den to make it easy for residents to share their support.

So far, we have collected 371 signatures and two community letters supporting the effort. In addition, the Yakama Nation Tribal Council and the Yakima County Commissioners have each sent letters directly to the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board expressing their concerns.

We will continue collecting letters and signatures in the coming weeks. This Thursday, coalition members will also meet with the Mt. Adams School District Board to request their support for this effort.

Our next planning meeting will take place tomorrow, March 17th, at 1:00 pm, immediately following the coalition meeting. Community members are welcome to join in person or via Zoom.

A special thank you goes to Joshua Tsavatewa, Jenny Sumner, Jill Delaney, and Oscar Suarez for their ongoing dedication and leadership in this important community effort.
