Coalition Takes Action to Address Alcohol Access in White Swan

May 20, 2026

On May 19th, the White Swan Community Coalition submitted a formal letter to the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) calling for action on alcohol access in White Swan. Along with the letter, the coalition delivered a powerful show of community support, including:

  • A community petition with 387 signatures

  • A student petition with 48 signatures

  • Letters from the Yakama Nation, Yakima County Commissioners, and the Mt. Adams School District Board

  • Letters from Senator King and Representatives Manjarrez and Mendoza

  • Letters from nine local businesses, churches, and community members

  • Letters from seven students

The breadth of this response — spanning Tribal government, elected officials, faith communities, local businesses, schools, and youth — reflects how deeply this issue resonates across the community.

The coalition has not yet received a response from the LCB but remains hopeful that this collective effort will lead to meaningful change. A sincere thank you to all workgroup members whose dedication and hard work made this submission possible.
