A New Game with a Powerful Purpose at Harrah Elementary
Feb 1, 2026
Something exciting is happening in classrooms at Harrah Elementary and it looks a lot like play, teamwork, and laughter. This year, students and teachers are beginning to use the PAX Good Behavior Game, an evidence-based approach that turns everyday classroom moments into opportunities for growth by helping students practice focus, cooperation, and self-control while working together.
What makes PAX especially powerful is what’s happening beneath the surface: decades of research show it strengthens inhibition, extends self-regulation, and improves social-emotional scaffolding—skills that support lifelong mental health and are linked to fewer behavior challenges, stronger relationships, improved academic outcomes, and reduced substance use later in life. By building these skills early, we’re setting our students up not just for success in school, but for healthier, more resilient futures.
