Primary Project New Volunteer Training
Sep 17, 2024
Did you know it only takes 30 minutes a week to improve a student's self-confidence, social and learning skills, and help reduce their long-term risk for developing mental health problems?
Primary Project is a national evidence-based program that helps children in Pre-K through third grade adjust to school, gain confidence and social skills, and focus on learning. Through play, Primary Project addresses children’s school adjustment difficulties and increases their chances for success.
Training for new Primary Project volunteers will be held Tuesday, September 17th, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the White Swan High School Community Room. At the training, you'll learn why this play-based intervention is so effective with our children and you'll be introduced to key strategies you can use with children in our community.
Once you've been trained, you'll have the opportunity to volunteer with our own Harrah youth. Volunteers can donate as little as 30 minutes a week and still make a deep impact on a child's life.Volunteers are also eligible to receive a $225 stipend for each child they serve!
Training is FREE, lunch is provided, and space is limited.
